# ICP & persona matching

Let LeadBoxer App highlight the companies that fit your Ideal Customer Profile and the people in them who match your target personas.

Not every company that visits your website or opens your emails is worth your time. ICP & persona matching lets you describe who you want to sell to once, and LeadBoxer App applies it to every lead from then on.

## What it does

* **Tags ICP matches.** Companies that fit your [Ideal Customer Profile](/leadboxer/using-the-app/definitions-and-glossary.md#icp-ideal-customer-profile) (industry, employee size, country) are tagged automatically as they engage with your website and emails.
* **Finds the right people.** For each matching company, LeadBoxer lists the people who fit your [personas](/leadboxer/using-the-app/definitions-and-glossary.md#persona) (job title, seniority, country), with their professional profile.
* **Shows matches where you work.** In [Inboxer](/leadboxer/using-the-app/inboxer.md), matched accounts and personas are highlighted, and you can filter on ICP and persona matches anywhere in the App.
* **Gets you a way in.** Where available, you can look up a persona's business email address for outreach.

## Get started

1. Define one or more ICP and persona combinations under [Goals & Targets](/leadboxer/using-the-app/elements/goals-and-targets.md#icp-and-personas). Not sure where to start? The free [ICP Generator](https://app.leadboxer.com/icp-generator) creates ICPs and personas from your company's domain name.
2. Open Inboxer or Leads & Accounts and filter on ICP matches.
3. Open a matching account to see its personas, and look up email addresses for the ones you want to contact.

Persona match lookups and persona email lookups use credits. See [LeadBoxer Credits](/leadboxer/account-and-billing/leadboxer-credits.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.leadboxer.com/leadboxer/use-cases/icp-and-persona-matching.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
